Obituary for Rodger Thomas Cramer

Rodger Thomas Cramer, 81, died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Beacon Ridge in Indiana.

Born April 26, 1938 in Penn Run. A son of Murray Ralph Cramer and Vernie (Green) Cramer, he was the youngest of 9 children.

He attended Pine Township High School while working on the family farm. 1956 he worked in Cleveland, Ohio, came back and got married. He worked other jobs, plus farming.

He retired from Pennsylvania American Water Company in Indiana in May 2000.

Rodger is survived by his wife Doris Jean Cramer, whom he married 62 years ago, his sons Russell Clay and his wife Cindy; Kevin Wade and his wife Lisa, all of Indiana. Three grandsons: Stephen and wife Lisa; Ryan and wife Chantell; and Cody and his wife Sabrina, all of Indiana. Six great-grandchildren also survive him: Autumn, Austin, Remi, Taylor, Wade and Rudy. His surviving siblings include: Ruie Gressley and Ronald Cramer, and sisters-in-law, JoAnn West, Ruby Cramer, and Delores Cramer. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and his wife; Ralph and his wife; Royden and his wife; and, Robert; sisters, Ruth Peterson, and Roene Smeltzer; and by brothers-in-law Perry Petersen, John Smeltzer, Bill West, and Delmont Gressley, and daughter-in-law Barb.

There will be no viewing. A graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 25th at 10 AM at Cherryhill Progressive Cemetery, William West officiating. Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer is assisting the family.
