Obituary for Laymond W. Lewis

Laymond W. “Lippy” Lewis, 75, of Marion Center died at his home with his wife by his side, Thursday, March 26, 2020. Born in Meadow Bridge, WV on July 11, 1944, he was a son of the late Andrew Lewis and Ruby (Mullins) Lewis. He was the husband of Dawn (Barnett) Lewis, they were married for 30 years.

He worked as a superintendent for the R.G. Johnson Company, Washington, PA, as well as Central Cambria Drilling, Ebensburg.

Laymond joined his brothers to serve in Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the First Calvary Division.

A true lover of the outdoors, Laymond loved working on his farm and caring for his many animals. He also loved to cook.

In addition to his wife, Laymond will be remembered by his son, Laymond W. Lewis, Jr., (Debrah) of Farmersville, OH; his grandchildren: Rachel, Matthew, and Luke; and by his siblings: Pauline McKinney, of Columbus, OH and Lanford Lewis, of Ruther Glen, VA. He will also be missed by his numerous animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

In accordance with Laymond’s wishes, service arrangements are private. Cremation at the Rairigh-Bence Crematory under the direction of Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer.
