Obituary for John Patrick "Pat" Morris Sr.

John Patrick “Pat” Morris, Sr., 73, of Indiana, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in Indiana. Born, March 21, 1947 in Indiana, he was a son of the late Edward J. Morris and Mary Louise (Garman) Morris.

Pat was a lifelong resident of Indiana. As a youth, he was involved in Boy Scouts, 4H and FFA. He was a 1965 graduate of Indiana High School and worked many places over the years, including Haliburton, Syntron, McCreary Tire and Rubber and Beatty Gas. He best loved his years driving over the road for CVS and Wal-Mart. He logged over six million miles and retired in 2018 with an exemplary safety record.

Pat served as the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 25. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 174, Elks Lodge 931, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1468, the Moose Riders Association, the Fort Armstrong Horseman’s Association and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Father McNelis Council 1481. He was also a devoted member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana.

Pat truly enjoyed his life. He loved horses, riding motorcycles, and the sight of a stretch of open road in front of him. He spoke often of his travels to Japan and England and his many happy months in Arizona, the most amazing place on earth except for all of the rattlesnakes. He kept in touch with his many friends on a daily basis, but most of all, Pat loved spending time with his family.

He was a friend to everyone and was always there to help when needed. He seemed to always have the right tool for every job and a knack for scoring a good deal at an auction. His aptitude with a crock pot was also legendary.

Pat will be dearly remembered by his sons: John P. Morris, Jr. and his wife, Sandra L. (Spence) Morris and Timothy L. Morris and his wife, Desiree (Supplee) Morris, all of Indiana. He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and his siblings: Margaret “Peggy” L. Preite, Indiana; Maureen A. Zenger (George Zenger), Pickerington, OH; Michele M. Morris, Florence, AZ; Michael J. Morris, Indiana and James E. Morris (Linda Hickey Morris), Delmont; his Aunt Margaret “Peggy” (Garman) Connolly, Washington PA and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many loving cousins and close companion, Sharon Mlecik, Coral.

Pat was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy A. Eliker and by a niece, Molly (McCracken) Prosowski.

The Morris Family requests that charitable donations be made to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 200 Clairvaux Drive, Indiana, PA 15701.
