Earl R. Steele, 94, of Indiana, went to be with his Jesus on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at the Communities of Indian Haven. He was born in Marion Center on January 25, 1926, to the late John Steele and Ruby (Loding) Steele. He was the husband of Evelyn (Wagener) Steele, whom he married June 23, 1951, spending almost 69 years together.

Earl worked for McCreary Tire & Rubber Co. in Indiana, retiring after 43 ½ years.

He loved to do wood work and especially enjoyed building doll houses, ships, and various other pieces.

Earl attended Independent Holiness Church for a number of years, and was a former member of the Creekside Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife Evelyn, Earl will be missed by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Ralph, Roy, and Paul, and his twin sisters, Veda and Vada.

Due to the Covid – 19 pandemic, service arrangements are private at this time. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery. A memorial service at Independent Holiness Church will be announced at a later date, Pastors Charles Williamson and Dan Little will officiate. Service arrangements are with the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana.
