Obituary for Theodore Chichy

Theodore  Chichy
Theodore Tony Chichy, 73, of East Run, unexpectedly died Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home. Born in Clymer, February 11, 1943 he was a son of the late Theodore Tony Chichy and Helen (Yatsko) Chichy.

A graduate of Purchase Line High School, Theodore was a U.S. Marine veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a coal miner for Greenwhich Collaries for over twenty years. He was also a Deputy Warden with the Pennsylvania Game Commission for more than ten years.

Theodore enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. He always had time for his family and enjoyed being with them whenever possible. He always kept busy fixing things and working on little projects around the home. In addition to being proud of his family, Theodore was proud to be a Marine.

He was a member of the Dixonville MOOSE and the Heilwood Sportsmans Club.

He will be remembered by his four daughters: Carrie A. Waltemire , Indiana; Dawn M Thompson, Indiana; Jayna M. Jiles & husband, Robert, Saltsburg; and Rachel K. Chichy, Ernest. There are four surviving grandchildren: Michael Patterson and wife Ashley, Indiana; Kayla Waltemire. Homer City; Kiera Shank, Ernest, Odin Jiles and Sephoa Jiles, Saltsburg. Theodore is also survived by the following siblings: Helen Hill, Clymer; JoAnn Raymer & husband, Richard, Roseburg, OR; Mike Chichy & wife, Jane, Commodore; Andrew Chichy, Clymer; Anna Mae Mitchell & husband, Danny, Lebanon, TN; Lou Ann Bowser& husband, Richard, Indiana; Deb Desmarais & husband, Ernie, Newcomerstown, OH; John Chichy & wife, Bev, Rochester Mills and Christopher Chichy & wife Karen, Glen Campbell. Other survivors include his sister – in – law, Linda Chichy, Indiana; and his dear friend, Lisa Riggle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Chichy, brother, Frank Chichy and nephews, Brian and Frank Chichy, Jr.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 15th from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. His funeral service will begin Friday morning at eleven o’clock at the funeral home. Rev. Robert White will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s cemetery, Clymer.
Graveside military honors will be provided by the Clymer American Legion Post # 222.
