Obituary for Lucille V. Bence

Lucille V. Bence, 66, of Indiana, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Communities at Indian Haven. Born in Indiana on April 30, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Ralph S. Bence and Alta (Moorhead) Bence.

Lucy was dearly loved by her family. She was a 1968 graduate of Indiana High School and was a caregiver and nurses aid with the Visiting Nurse Association of Indiana County. She loved being with people and helping others. She was a natural caregiver, always smiling and always able to make others smile around her. She also loved a good joke and would tell the jokes whenever she could. One of her favorite things to do was to eat at the McDonalds Restaurant at Regency Mall where she would spend hours visiting with her friends. In addition to loving her family and friends, Lucy loved the Lord. She was a member of the Indiana Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her siblings: Lois Babik and husband, Richard, Johnstown; Louise Ager, Harrison City and Lola Bence, Delray Beach, FL. Lucy is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, LaRue Simpson and a brother-in-law, Ken Ager.

A Memorial Service will begin Wednesday afternoon, April 26th at 1 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. VNA Hospice Chaplain Tom Spiker will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Indiana Church of the Brethren, 905 McKnight Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
