Obituary for William H. "Just Plain Bill" Yoder

William H. “Just Plain Bill” Yoder, 90 of Clymer, PA., passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home.
He was the son of Walter and Ruth (Makepeace) Yoder, born on June 17, 1923 in Johnstown, PA.

Bill loved his chickens and splitting wood. Bill was the “Boss” and a hard worker. He was well known and loved by all that knew him. In his early years Bill had a band called the Bashful Willie and the Ridge Riders. Bill was a member of the Clymer American Legion post 222 and served in the United States Army in WWII.

He is survived by two children, Donald Yoder and wife Ruth of Gaines, PA; Nancy Yoder of Vandergrift, PA; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one special niece Barbara Ruth Skibicki and husband Ed of Clymer and many other nieces and nephews and his cat Kit.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one son, William Yoder; one granddaughter, Rosemary Yoder; 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Clymer. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Spiker, Chaplain VNA Hospice, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery with military rites provided by the Clymer American Legion, post 222.
